We export apple variety called “Orin” from Aomori Prefecture to Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, yellow/Green apple varieties are more popular than red varieties (such as Sun Fuji) .

Also, Green apples are preferred to yellow apples as it looks more fresh and healthier.

The red apple variety is popular as a gift for the Lunar New Year, so it has most demand before the Lunar New Year.
Regarding Orin apple, It is more like household fruit rather than a gift, so it has been continuously exported to Hong Kong even after the Lunar New Year.

Nowadays,
Controlled Atmosphere (CA) refrigeration and smart fresh treatment have been improved to supply delicious Japanese apples throughout the year.
We will continue to do our best to spread out delicious Orin apple to other countries where the flavor is not yet recognized.
